More About Louise

The Designer

Louise Bradley Johnson has almost 20 years of experience as an interior designer and is a professional member of ASID. Her full-service design firm, Louise Johnson Interiors, is located in Spartanburg, SC and specializes in high-end residential interior design.

Louise graduated from Vanderbilt University.  She studied in Florence, Italy where she fell in love with art history and architecture. Immediately after graduation from college, she attended the American University (AIU) in Atlanta and earned her Bachelors in Fine Arts (BFA) in Interior Design. During her time in Atlanta, she had the opportunity to work for Dan Carithers, Travis & Co., and Gandy Peace.

Louise started her own business in 2003 and has since been combining her love of both art and interiors for her clients all over the south. "I believe that rooms should have classic clean lines and timeless design. I like mixing antiques with more contemporary pieces, and I rely on color, texture and layering pieces so that a room feels like it has developed over time. The finished design should ultimately reflect my clients’ personality and be an improved version of their design style."

The Artist

Louise has an extensive background in art, including countless studio and art history classes at Vanderbilt University, graphic design courses at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and drafting, architecture and furniture design classes at American University (AIU).  “My true passion is being in the studio, creating something with my hands.  Coming from a long line of artists, I couldn't escape the artistic world if I tried, but creating is all I have ever wanted to do."

Louise has participated in several solo shows and group shows.  She sells her pieces directly, often finding collectors through her Instagram account, as well as through Art Lounge and Spruce. She has participated in shows for Arts & Brass, SPACEWALK, Thisbe and Noah and Celebrating Art, and fundraisers for the Children's Advocacy Center, Episcopal Church of the Advent, Spartanburg Day School and Mobile Meals.

Louise works with acrylics, watercolors, oil pastels, markers and charcoal creating pieces on paper and canvas.  Her notecards and ornaments are also available for gifts.
